C’RILLOS PROJECT

We are currently recruiting for the C’RILLOS Project!

Our goal is to examine thoughts and perceptions about cigarillos, brands like Swisher Sweets, Black & Mild, White Owls and others, among Black/African American & Hispanic young adults.

Purpose of the Project

The purpose of this study is to study Black/African-American and Hispanic young adults’ thoughts about advertising for flavored cigarillos (brands like Swisher Sweets, Black & Mild, White Owls and others) and how it influences smoking behavior.

What will I be asked to do if I take part?

In this study, you will be asked to complete an online survey and some participants will be given the option to participate in a virtual focus group and a discrete choice experiment (DCE).

Online survey: The survey will take about 10-15 minutes to complete and include questions about exposure to rhetoric of over-policing and discrimination against AA/B and H/L smokers and rebranded LCC packages.

Online focus group: The online focus group will take about 60 minutes to complete it. Discussion will include topics on participants exposure and perceptions of LCC packaging and over-policing and discrimination against smokers.

DCE: The DCE will examine the effects of flavored product type on participants preference for product choice, risk perceptions, and intention to use products.

You do not have to answer any questions you do no want to answer. Also, some questions may make you feel uncomfortable. If that happens, you can skip those questions or withdraw from the study altogether.
